Sometimes we just need someone to believe in us, to come alongside and show us the way…
“Sarah” is a young survivor of sex trafficking. She began her story with Gracehaven in our residential group home. Then she moved into another living situation where she continued to meet with a Gracehaven Community Case Manager. They worked on her personal empowerment which helped her develop her own voice, learn to set goals and boundaries, and how to advocate for herself.
Today she is thriving in Independent Living, and has started to attend college. She and her family have benefited from our family engagement services, and they are supportive and encouraging of her college endeavor. She also has a committed mentor who meets with her to offer love and guidance.
“No one has ever believed in me or supported me like you have. You believed in me, and helped me to believe in myself!”
As she says, “No one has ever believed in me or supported me like you have. You believed in me, helped me to believe in myself! I never knew college was a possibility for me and now I am here, beginning college!”
Sarah has benefited from Gracehaven’s full continuum of care. But more importantly, she engaged with a team of people passionately working to help young sex trafficking survivors like her write new stories of hope for their lives.
