For Columbus
Connect. Collaborate. Catalyze.
That's the goal of For Columbus -- bringing together believers from all over the Columbus area to build a movement that shares the Gospel and advances His kingdom. Through intentional and relational networking, God has been building a network of youth pastors, campus ministers, Christian school leaders, congregations and non profits with the goal of working together to reach the next generation of youth. In addition to this expansive foundation, there's a level of spiritual hunger among young people that just seems to be growing. The time is ideal to add a director to this NextGen Initiatives Movement. COYFC is excited to partner with For Columbus in this exciting ministry opportunity.
Introducing Tom Dixon
Tom Dixon has spent the last 30 years developing leaders and building ministry teams both in adult and youth settings. He served for 15 years on the pastoral staff of a large Columbus church as a teaching pastor, elder and high school ministry director. He then spent 15 years with Young Life, first as Area Director of Ohio University, then in a regional role overseeing 30 staff and 400 volunteer leaders running clubs at more than 100 schools across Greater Cincinnati. Most recently, Tom served on staff with Search Ministry helping adults grow in their understanding of the gospel and their confidence to share it with others.
Tom loves to equip young leaders to serve with confidence in their faith, enthusiasm for God’s Word, and an adventurous, winsome approach that naturally invites others along.
In his role as Leadership Development Director with Central Ohio Youth for Christ, Tom will help strengthen and grow the ministry by spearheading onboarding, training, and leadership development pathways for staff and volunteer leaders across the ministries of Central Ohio Youth for Christ. Tom will also help ensure that the mission, values, and culture of COYFC are consistently reflected throughout the organization as it continues to expand its impact across Central Ohio.
As NextGen Initiatives Director with For Columbus, Tom will help connect, encourage, and equip youth ministry leaders from churches and ministries across the city. His role focuses on building collaboration and momentum around a shared vision — raising up the next generation of Christ-centered leaders who will impact Columbus and beyond. Through citywide events and strategic partnerships, Tom will help develop initiatives that equip students to live out their faith in their schools, empower volunteers to be consistent and caring mentors, and provide ministry leaders with practical tools, proven strategies, and insights into emerging trends affecting today’s young people.
